Classic Yacht for sale – Camper and Nicholsons 44

Built in 1961 by Camper and Nicholson, Gosport, England, this 44 ft Bermudian Yawl has real character. A new suit of sails by Ratsey and Lapthorne of Cowes, the original sail makers, have recently been added.

Constructed of teak and mahogany on grown oak frames to Lloyds 100AI – the marine industry hallmark – her Thames Measurement was 16 tons and the designed displacement 12.81 tons say 13 or perhaps 14 by now! Meaning she is stable in a large sea and enjoys a stiff breeze unlike many of the newer “plastic” yachts on charter today. She gracefully powers through the waves and gently heels as winds increase feeling safe and secure.

Zillaine has 6 berths and even the original engraved cutlery set.

“The Best available materials to be used throughout and the workmanship and finish to be of the highest standard." is detailed on page 2 of the original build specification dated 10th August 1960 for Richard F. Haworth Esq.

And I have 13 line drawings of Zillaine copied from the Maritime Museum Greenwich - a true classic - and she was featured in the book “Sailing” by Peter Heaton and described as:

“A modern ocean-racing yawl: strong, supremely seaworthy, and fast”.

Hull and topsides professionally painted May 2012, she has a great Perkins 4108 for when there is no wind – loads of spares and ready for the Classic regatta if you wish as she has a CIM rating.

A great live-a-board and plenty to keep you busy whilst you sail the seven seas!

Reluctantly, and I mean “reluctantly” for sail as now live in Dubai on business and she will not stand the heat!

Price - £ 48,000 for swift sale. NOW REDUCED TO £39,000!!
